Based out of Boston, Massachusetts, WBZ-AM is a 50,000 watt news. talk, and sports station that has been on the air since 1921, making it one of the oldest radio stations in the United States. It is owned by CBS Entercom, and is obviously a CBS News affiliate. However, from 1931 t0 1956, it was an affiliate of the NBC Radio Network. It went to its full format as it stands today in 1985. Prior to this, it was at various points in its history a top 40 station, then an adult contemporary music station.
